    old antique Japanese sword tanto
    Honestly, I don’t know much about this blade at all. I bought it off a lady in Texas years ago and she said her dad brought it back from overseas after WW2.
    It seems pretty old. It has a hollow grind on one side of the blade and a single bevel on the other side. There are some markings on the blade. I have no idea what they say.
    At one time the blade was out of the handle. It had a VERY rough forged tang with no markings on the tang. It was NOT the refined tang you see on many of these short swords.
    The sheath is pretty fragile. The metal is not attached to the wood currently. There are cracks and bits of wood missing. But it’s mainly there. It is a really pleasant yin yang sort of shape in my opinion.
    I don’t know much else about it.
