    Description

Fujiwara Mitsuhira, Kaga, C.1715, Wakizashi Blade With Fatal Hagiri Flaw. This Smith is a 25 point maker and Holly, MIT 45 page 450. I bought this sword along with a group of other swords recently and didn’t discover until I got it in the correct lighting that it had a fatal flaw. The polish is quite nice with some staining and a little bit of rust but pretty much the entire temper line is clear very active controlled Gunome. Local knife maker has offered me 0. for it thinking that he can make a couple tantos from this including one which would utilize the original Nakago. However I would rather see it go to someone who wants to use it as a study piece or at least who is a Japanese sword collector. Of course the hand forged traditionally made steel has some value on its own. Included with the bare blade is the Original saya which is basically included just as a way to help protect the blade. See photographs for greater details. The last two photographs show the Hagiri clearly at approximately the nine each length of the blade minus the Nakago. Condition is “Used”. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Sale final. No international sales. Buyer pays all return shipping if required. Ask needed questions prior to purchase. quinnstudios.com
