Membrane Keypads??
A membrane keypad is a keypad made from a thin membrane consisting of a spacer and conductor.
Membrane keypads are sometimes used alone but can also be under plastic or rubber keys. Some membrane keypads have snap domes to provide tactile feedback.

I have been designing custom membrane keypads for over 20 years.  When properly designed and installed, a membrane keypad will return your buttons to like new condition and last indefinitely.
Membrane keypads fix buttons that are dirty, worn down from use or gunked up with oil from the rubber pad.
Membrane keypads will
not
fix the following issues...
Button contacts damaged with metal tools
Buttons covered in glue
Rows of buttons that suddenly stop working
Example: 3,6,9 and HOLD are suddenly and completely non-functional
