--- NOTE that one of the shown envelopes is NOT related to the others, it is from the original collector (this lot was presented together along with a collection of covers, I was told the photos are of the plane and the crash). Also NOTE the two crash photos are VERY BLURRY. There is no provenance connecting the photos to the letters. The 4 damaged by Fire or Water covers are all dated as 1/5/1939 (when the crash happened). Those envelopes are all empty. The one letter from the original collector has an enclosed letter which I show in the photos, appears to be a response from another collector and describes something about himself as well as discussing covers (that letter being postmarked May 31 1939). The 4 black and white photos measure 3.75" x almost 6". All photos are period silver gelatin prints (you can see the bluish reflections in some of the blacks, mostly close to the edges). The two photos of the plane on the water are on Kodak Velox, the photos apparently showing the crash are on an unmarked photo paper. Given the date 1/5/1939 I suppose it is possible to maybe track down the crash itself.
