The Ottoman Public Debt Administration (ODPA) was a government entity in the old Ottoman Empire, It collected taxes within the Ottoman Empire with which it made payments to European creditors. It ceased to exist as the Ottoman Empire was dissolved. For auction is an interesting and very rare document, a "Share of the Ottoman Public Debt Incumbent upon the Transjordan". It was in the amount of 1-pound English sterling. It is dated June 1, 1937. The debt covered was owed by Transjordan, which was the east-bank area bordering Israel to the west and Saudi Arabia to the east. The area is Syria today.
